A few things to know before laptop disassembly.

STEP 11

After the connector is unlocked you can pull the keyboard cable.

STEP 12

Remove the keyboard.

New replacement keyboards for Toshiba Satellite L775, L775D laptops available here.

STEP 13

Remove all screws from the bottom of the laptop.

STEP 14

Remove four screws securing the palmrest assembly.

Disconnect the speaker cable (left arrow) and touchpad cable (right arrow).

STEP 15

You unlock the touchpad connector the same way you unlocked the keyboard connector in the step 12.

STEP 16

After the connect is unlocked you can pull the touchpad cable.

STEP 17

Unplug the speaker cable from the motherboard.

STEP 18

Now start separating the palmrest assembly from the laptop base.

I'm using the guitar pick for that. You can use a piece of soft plastic.

Insert the guitar pick between the palmrest assembly and bottom cover and move it along the side until latches are unlocked.

STEP 19

Continue removing the palmrest assembly with your fingers.

STEP 20

Remove the palmrest assembly.

STEP 21

On the other side of the palmrest assembly you can access both speakers and touchpad.

NOTE: the left and right button board is not a part of the touchpad. We'll be removing the button board later.
