Removing laptop keyboard

STEP 10

Remove three screws and the keyboard lock in the center securing the keyboard to the laptop base.

Take apart laptop

STEP 11

Turn the keyboard over and put it on the palmrest.
Remove one screw securing a metal plate over the keyboard connector and remove it.

   
Unplug laptop cable on system board

STEP 12

Unplug the keyboard cable from the connector on the notebook main board.

   
Remove wireless card cover

STEP 13

Remove one screw and remove a metal plate covering the wireless network card.

   
Disconnect wireless card and remove from laptop

STEP 14

Disconnect the right and left speaker cables on the system board.
Disconnect the LCD switch cable on the system board.
Disconnect the wireless card antenna cables and remove the wireless card from the socket on the system board.

   
Removing CD player board

STEP 15

Remove two screws securing the CD player board to the laptop base.

   
Disconnect CD player board

STEP 16

To disconnect the CD player board, turn it over.
Unlock the connector and unplug the cable.
Remove the board.

   
Remove laptop memory and disconnect video cable

STEP 17

Remove both memory modules.
Disconnect the laptop display cable on the system board.
Remove four screws securing the top cover and display assembly to the laptop base.

   
Lift off notebook LCD assembly

STEP 18

Start removing the top cover and display assembly from the back of the notebook.

   
Remove top cover assembly from laptop base

STEP 19

Lift off the top cover assembly and remove it from the base.

   
Disassemble Toshiba Satellite A45 laptop

STEP 20

Now you can access the system board and remove it from the base.
I'm not going to remove the system board in this guide.
