Disassemble laptop

STEP 9

Remove two screws securing the display hinges to the laptop base.
Pull the wireless card antenna cables through the opening in the system board.
Disconnect the LCD screen cable on the system board.

Remove LCD screen

STEP 10

Lift the LCD screen assembly off the base and remove it.

   
Taking apart notebook

STEP 11

Remove seven marked screws. One screw on the top would be hidden under the seal.
Disconnect the touchpad flat cable on the system board.

   
Open laptop case

STEP 12

Using a guitar pick, carefully separate the top cover from the base. Move the guitar pick along the top cover edge to release latches.

   
Remove top cover

STEP 13

Lift the top cover off the base and remove it from the base.

   
Dismantle laptop

STEP 14

Remove two hex screws on the back of the notebook.

   
Removing system board

STEP 15

Remove three screws securing the system board.
Disconnect the right and left speakers on the system board.

   
Remove laptop motherboard

STEP 16

Lift the system board by the left side and carefully remove if from the notebook base.

   
Remove CPU cooling fan

STEP 17

Remove four screws securing the CPU fans.
Hold the fan assembly and turn the system board over.
