When you handle computer components, always work with Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) protection. Use a wrist strap and a static map.

Keep your desk clean. Laptops have a lot of small parts and you do not want to loose any.

Tools you need to disassemble a laptop.

Set of slotted/phillips screwdrivers

Oh, man. I absolutely love my WIHA screwdrivers! The best screwdrivers I've ever touched! If you do not have it, I would totally recommend buying it. You'll never regret.

Needle Nose Pliers
Scratch Awl
3/16 Nutdriver

Torx 8 Screwdriver

Guitar pick (heavy)
It works great as a case separator. The guitar pick is made of plastic softer than the computer's case and prevent potential damage. Example here,
STEP 13.

Container for screws.

I would recommend using small containers to collect screws and small parts when you disassemble a laptop. You name the container according a part you are working on. Usually I use 5 containers:
Bottom, Keyboard, Under keyboard, System board, Screen.

How to remove a memory/wireless card module.

Spread the latches securing the module.

Rotate the module to about 30-degree angle.

Remove the module from the socket.

How to disconnect Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) connectors.

NEVER try to unplug connectors by pulling the cable.

Lift the edges of the connector first.

Carefully disconnect the cable.
