Toshiba Satellite A665, A665D, A660, A660D screen replacement.

This laptop has a LED-backlit LCD screen installed. I explain how to find a new compatible screen at the end of the guide.

By the way, here's my previous guide explaining how to take apart the body.

STEP 1

Before you start laptop disassembly make sure it's turned off. Remove laptop battery.

You'll find four screw covers located on the bezel around the LCD screen. These covers hiding screws securing the screen bezel.

Remove all four covers with a sharp object. Glue covers somewhere on the bezel so they don't get lost.

STEP 2

Insert your fingers between the screen bezel and LCD screen.

Wiggle the bezel and separate it from the back cover.

STEP 3

Continue removing the screen bezel on the top and both sides of the display.

After that move the bottom part.

STEP 4

Remove screen bezel from the display assembly.

STEP 5

You'll find the web camera module mounted above the LCD screen.

The web camera module is not a part of the screen. It's a separate component.

Carefully disconnect the cable from the right side of the web camera. It's a regular male-female connector.

STEP 6

Loosen four screws securing screen hinges. Do not remove these screws, just make them loose.

STEP 7

Now you should be able to separate the LCD screen from the display back cover.

Separate it just enough to access screws on the side of the screen. These screws securing the laptop screen to the mounting brackets.

Remove three screws on the right side of the screen.

STEP 8

Remove three more screws on the left side of the screen.

STEP 9

Now you can separate the LCD screen from the back cover and place it face down on the keyboard.

STEP 10

The last step is disconnecting the video cable from the LCD screen.

Carefully remove the clear tape securing the video cable connector and unplug video cable from the screen.

Replace LCD screen with a new one and assemble the laptop following directions from step 10 to step 1.

You can search for a new screen by the full laptop model name.
