Toshiba Satellite C655, C650, C655D, C650D screen replacement.

Fortunately, it's not necessary to separate the display panel from the laptop base in order to replace the screen. You can do it while the display still attached to the base.

For the base disassembly follow this guide.

Before you start taking it apart, make sure the laptop is turned off and battery removed.

 

STEP 1

The screen bezel secured to the display cover by four screws hidden under plastic covers.

   

STEP 2

Using a sharp object remove all four screw covers.

Remove all four screws.

   

STEP 3

Insert your fingers between the bezel and LCD screen and start separating it.

You'll have to wiggle the screen bezel in order to disengage hidden latches.

   

STEP 4

Continue removing the bezel with your fingers.

   

STEP 5

The bezel has been separated from the top part of the display.

Now you can move to the bottom part.

   

STEP 6

Lift up the bezel with a small screwdriver and separate it from the display hinge.

   

STEP 7

Scree bezel removed.

   

STEP 8

Remove two screws securing LCD mounting brackets to the display cover.

   

STEP 9

Carefully separate the display cover from the screen and place it on the desk.

   

STEP 10

Now you can access the video cable located on the back of the screen.

   

STEP 11

Remove sticky tape securing the connection.

Unplug video cable from the LCD screen.

   

STEP 12

Remove three screws securing LCD screen to the right mounting bracket.

   

STEP 13

Remove three screws securing LCD screen to the left mounting bracket.

   

STEP 14

Now you can remove the damaged/failed LCD screen and replace it with a new LCD screen.
