How to open Toshiba Qosmio F15 laptop case

Toshiba Qosmio F15, F10 disassembly.

 
Remove laptop battery

STEP 1

Start laptop disassembly with removing the battery.

   
Remove memory and hard drive covers

STEP 2

Remove one screw securing the memory module cover and remove the cover.
Remove one screw securing the hard drive and remove the cover.

   
Remove hard drive and memory

STEP 3

Remove the memory module and the hard drive from the laptop.
To remove the hard drive: slide it away from the connector and lift up.

   
Remove DVD drive

STEP 4

Remove two screws securing the DVD drive to the laptop base.
You can open the drive with a thin sharp object (for example a straightened paper clip) and carefully pull the drive from the laptop.

   
Open laptop case

STEP 5

Remove all marked screws on the bottom of the laptop.

   
Remove keyboard strip

STEP 6

Turn the laptop the right side up and remove the keyboard securing strip with a sharp object.

STEP 7

Remove the keyboard securing stip.

   
Removing speaker cover

STEP 8

Remove one screw securing the speaker cover.
Slide the speaker cover to the right and lift it up.

   
Remove speakers cover

STEP 9

Remove the speaker cover from the laptop.

   
Remove laptop keyboard

STEP 10

Remove two screws securing the keyboard and lift up the keyboard.

   
Remove keyboard cable cover

STEP 11

Remove two screws securing a metal plate over the keyboard connector and remove the plate.

   
Disconnect laptop keyboard

STEP 12

Disconnect the keyboard cable on the system board and remove the keyboard.

   
Remove cable cover

STEP 13

Remove two screws and remove two metal plates covering cables.

   
Remove membrane switch

STEP 14

Remove one screw securing the membrane switch board.
Disconnect the membrane switch cable on the system board.
Slide the boar left and remove it.

   
Disconnect cables

STEP 15

Remove two screws securing the laptop top cover to the base.
Disconnect the Bluetooth cable, the video cable, the touchpad cable and the sound board cable.

   
Lift up top cover

STEP 16

Lift up the top cover and display assembly.
Be careful, the wireless card antenna cables are still attached to the wireless card.


   
Remove wireless card cover

STEP 17

Remove one screw securing the wireless card cover and remove it.

   
Remove wireless card

STEP 18

Disconnect the antenna cables and remove the wireless card.

   
Remove HDD connector cover

STEP 19

Remove the battery connector cover.

   
Removing system board

STEP 20

Remove three screws securing the system board and disconnect two cables.

   
Opening laptop

STEP 21

Before you remove the system board, you have to remove one screw on the laptop side.

   
Lift up system board

STEP 22

Carefully lift up the system board from the base.

   
Disconnect cables on system board

STEP 23

Turn the system board upside down.
Disconnect the DC jack cable, the USB cable, the RTC battery cable, the TV tuner card cable.
Remove one screw securing the cable holder.
Remove the system board.

   
Remove TV tuner

STEP 24

Remove two screws securing the TV tuner card and remove it.

   
Remove heatsink

STEP 25

Remove three screws securing the CPU heatsink.
Remove the heatsink.

   
Remove CPU

STEP 26

Unlock the CPU and carefully remove it from the socket on the system board.
