Toshiba Satellite U845, U840 disassembly.

In this guide I show how to remove the bottom cover.

Under the bottom cover you'll be able to access most major internal components.

STEP 1

On the bottom of the laptop you will find eleven rubber screw covers.

Also, there are two screws hidden under two laptop feet.

STEP 2

Remove rubber covers using a sharp object.

Remove all screws found under these rubber covers.

STEP 3

Remove two laptop feet.

You'll have to apply some force to remove them. Rubber feet are glued to the laptop case with sticky tape.

Remove two screws found under feet.

STEP 4

Carefully separate the bottom cover from the laptop and remove it.

STEP 5

Under the bottom cover you can access the following internal components:
- Battery.
- Hard drive.
- Both memory (RAM) modules.
- USB/LAN/Card reader board.
- Cooling fan.
- CMOS battery.
- Wireless card.
- SSD cache module (for system use only).
- Motherboard.

STEP 6

Here's how to remove the hard drive.

Carefully lift up the hard drive.

STEP 7

Disconnect the hard drive cable.

STEP 8

Toshiba Satellite U845/U840 laptops use low profile 7mm thick hard drives.
